chicago family photography: having so much fun with mom at the beach

I got a chance to do a mommy and me beach session with this sweet family! We headed out to one of my favorite Chicago area beaches in Highland Park and spent our time playing in the sand. At one point, the little boy got a bit fed up with the sand, so we decided to let him run around the boardwalk. I was able to capture some sweet, genuine smiles at this point! As a mom, I know that toddlers can be unpredictable, and sometimes we just have to let them do what they want. Trust me, this can create the perfect photos!!
